A Japanese Company Has Released Robo-Waiters

By the end of next year, Skylark Holdings, Japan’s largest operator of family restaurants, will serve dinner via robots at 2,000 of its eateries.

Food can be transported to a table for up to four people by the robot server, and dishes can be brought back after customers have finished eating. During busy periods in a Tokyo trial starting in August, the robots reduced staff members’ steps by half.
